The Movie: The second season of this popular 80's action/comedy/drama once again stars Mr. T., George Peppard, Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz as four war vets who, wen framed for a crime they didn't commit, go on the run as "The A-Team", a group of soldiers of fortune who fight against various criminals. The series offered a mixture of action, comedy and drama that caught on with audiences, who tuned in each week to see what trouble the team would have to get itself out of. The DVD VIDEO: "A-Team"'s third season is presented in the original aspect ratio of 1.33:1 full-frame. The show's image quality generally looked quite good, considering the age and the material. Sharpness and detail were not fantastic, but the picture still appeared mostly well-defined and consistent, with only occasional moments of softness here-and-there. The only flaws with the image were some specks on the print and some minor moments of grain. Edge enhancement and pixelation were not spotted, and the image remained free of shimmer and other issues. Colors looked natural and accurate, with nice saturation and no smearing. SOUND: The 2.0 soundtrack was mostly satisfactory, as audio quality was not exemplary or remarkable in any way, but effects, music and dialogue were largely clear and crisp, aside from the occasional slight edginess. EXTRAS: Nothing. Inside the case are coupons for $5 off the upcoming fourth season sets of "A-Team", "Knight Rider" and "Magnum P.I." Final Thoughts: "The A-Team"'s adventures continue to be compelling with the intense episodes on this third season set. The DVD provides fine audio/video quality, but unfortunately, no supplements. Recommended for fans. |
